On Seeing You With Two Men at The Bar.... Poem by RIC BASTASA

On Seeing You With Two Men at The Bar....

my brother will not believe
me but surely he must have something
to worry seeing you with two men at the bar
drinking whiskey at the height of the night
it will be darker than that,

my brother once asked me about you
and i told him well he can give you grandchildren
but i regretted saying that because with what i am seeing now in the dark night on a dimly lit bar
you with two men i guess something's wrong and
i am pretty sure that my brother would have something to worry and regret having you as his son

the uncle in me may understand but i will meet you there
and you will tell me lies and i will believe all of them
as i tell myself, ' so what? let yourself be happy'

history wrote, after all, and even today, there is really nothing to worry if you, (as i think you really are) ....gay.
