On My Own Poem by Ray Hansell

On My Own

The genie said, I'll grant you anything
That your heart desires
Just give it some thought
That's all that is required

But there is one simple rule
Don't ask me to find you love
You must find that on your own
That's what true love is made of

You have to find your own love
So you'll know that's it's true
That is the only thing
I will not do for you
