On Falling At A Lady's Feet After A Dance Poem by Frank Samuel Williamson

On Falling At A Lady's Feet After A Dance

If prostrate at thy feet I lie,
Reprove thine eyes not me,
They drew me to a starry sky,
To touch divinity.

How could a mortal linger there
Possessed of feeble worth?
But breathe awhile ambrosial air,
And fall back to the earth.

And yet I keep a fair delight,
To feast on unreproved,
How once a goddess blessed the night
And near a mortal moved.
