On Ending Poem by Tobbie WhiteBird Crowe

On Ending

I walk the road where death has been
And see such footprints as few have seen.
I follow a path I am bound past life,
Bought in tears and blood laid price.

I search for a key only one can hold
That leads to a door I would call home,
In a castle keep made of crystal and ice
Nailed with pain and held with lies.

I search for the one with the black iron key
Who's price is paid in living beings.

I search for the one, that's met just once.
Who's touch cast fear in brave men's hearts,
Who's found wherever there is hurt and end,
With pale cold hands and dark void eyes.

I search for the one who'll grant my one desire,
For peace unending without this life.
I search for a tower, a key, a touch
But death as always, still leaves me behind.
