On Dictatorship Poem by Katusiime Jeresi

On Dictatorship

All the kings' men say yes
because the king speaks
color-filled tongues
though rivers of disease
traverse his land
and winds of war
grow from adolescence
to adult hood.
All the kings' men say
yes
it's for their children they say
though their children will have children
with my children.

Our grand future we waste
playing futile games of greed
who taught you that selling hope
is a grand investment?
