On Being Reprimanded By George! Poem by keith brown

On Being Reprimanded By George!

We love you furry frogmouth
We really really do!
We all felt your pain as into the toilet block
You flew!
We're sorry that you eyes couldn't bear the light
But, you see we're only human and we don't see well at night.

Are you an owl or just a bird: well we're really undecided
But when we spied you on the fence, we really got excited
Then a nameless one among us, who isn't very bright,
Thought he might see a little better with a laser style of light!

So please accept our apologies, be sure we meant no harm
to cause your sight to fail, to startle or alarm.

Your friend called George has made us, become far more aware,
if we want to keep you healthy.
We must really take more care!
