Old Books Poem by Matthew Holloway

Old Books

Rating: 4.7

Those well worn pages
those footnotes scribbled in corners
tell tales beyond the book
a storied history
a dedication once made
be it poetry, fact or fiction
a book is something
magnificent
a well travelled novel
I've held more than a few
in my time
the leather cover
yellowed pages
aged in years
what eyes have read
those countless words
and fallen in love
with the written word
if books could talk
what story would they tell

A good book might say, 'I have made a friend in you'. A very good poem and a 10
