Oh So Tempting, This Escape... Poem by Poetic Crisis

Oh So Tempting, This Escape...

So desperately trying to make ends meet,
Laying the foundation of another disease,
Willing to take the strangers hand,
It's the grip of this on my neck,
Turning me into a mirror,
Helping to defeat this iron fold for you,

When was the last time you opened your eyes?
To what i'm forced to see,
Your thriving for sympathy,
In spite of everything i still listen to you,
It's hard to walk away from your pain,

Making the pressure ease into just a breeze,
Remembering the countless thieves,
Stealing away your every breath,
Only to leave you here in a tragedy,
Thats why the captivating go unnoticed,
Because they lock themselves deep away,

Ten minutes of disappearing into your mind,
Letting me escape from the restraints of life,
Neglecting what is holding me down,
Sounding the sirens not to drown,

This has come full circle on me,
Closing my eyes and pretending,
Even though i care to breath,
My eyes are closed to see,
And my ears are open to everything...
