Ofw Backdrop Of Sorrow

Say cheese....smile....click!

Each picture of an OFW
(Overseas Filipino Workers)
has a backdrop of sorrow

secretively hiding as it may seems
showing off the superficial landmarks
buoyed by magnificent scenery

Lens. Zoom.......Perfect!

each souvenir of yours
has a backdrop of sorrow
(deny it. admit it.
photoshop can't edit it)
your once-in-a-lifetime pose radiating
a just dried-up tears
wetting the damn-night pillow

what happiness you might possess
though you cross the seven seas
conquer those pleasurable places
but your loved-ones are a thousand miles
away from your unlimited clicks

shutter speed.....get set...self-portrait....
oh! can't hide the backdrop of sorrow
and here it goes..........

@ airport OFW arrival lounge
' you're not my daddy', your son can't recognize you personally unless you are viewed on his laptop
and skype online.
' my dad is on tv, hello tv, bye-bye tv! ''
strange but true.
click again! it's getting worst
@ home
' get out! get out! close the door! ' by the same son who had rejected me. It seemed I was invading his 2-year room of privacy.

what a shame, a self-embarrassing moment
that a richly figure investment as I would say
ain't enough to bind the father-and-son missing closeness

a deep resentment of mine
painful than those nostalgic tears
wetting beneath my un-breathable comforter

say cheese.........one more smile
flash! ! ! now capturing
the unadulterated backdrop of your photography
