Of The Revels Poem by Francis Kynaston

Of The Revels

While the Queene revels, Cynthia Queen of night
Withdraws & lyes drown'd in her brothers light.
Say why the Goddesse now shuns bals, who leads
All measures, and then whom none sprightlier treads?
Why feares she the Queens presence, who divine
With her gold tressed brothers light doth shine?
Or doth she blush before our fairer Queene,
To have her borrowed curles and painting seene?
There is no cause of feare, lest she by chance,
May not be thought faire, masked she may dance.
