Ode To The End My Friend Poem by Robert 'Cajun' Landreneau

Ode To The End My Friend

Rating: 4.5

All the memories that has past me
Are seen through eyes that fail to open
Still, I am trying desperately to see
And all the things I had hope in

Too many years have been unkind
The times of trouble were many
But good times I did find
As I spent life’s every penny

Sad to see it end
Glad to be free at last
There are wrongs I can defend
And there are rights that didn’t last

Although I believe in GOD
I lived my life to contrary
And if he gives me not the nod
I am sure I will see many of my contemporaries

So I say good bye to you
And all that I knew
Raise your glass in cheer
And death do not fear
