October Poem by Francis Duggan

October

A light shower of rain the sun hidden away
Twenty minutes later to reappear from behind clouds of gray
With scarce little breeze on the warm side of humid one can say
Quite typical weather for an October day
In south west Victoria in the coastal Moyne Shire
On such changeable Spring weather no chance of big fire
That sometimes in the warmth of a Summer heatwave blackens acres of countryside
Australia for it's extremes of weather has become known Worldwide
Sporadic sunshine between light showers of rain
With such weather so healthy for the natural environment how can one complain
A weather temperature high for the day of a humid twenty degrees
And the nesting birds are singing on the bushes and trees
The coastal Moyne shire is looking so healthy and green
And Nature at her finest she is to be seen.
