Oasis Poem by Ronald Chapman

Oasis

Rating: 5.0

I've stopped at this place,
Afraid to return to the past,

So much sadness, so much love,
Unable to show,

True love is like a cold drink of water,
From a desert oasis,

We've walked this path to fast,

Embraced your Soul,
But never truly loved,

It's too late,
We can not turn back time,
To truly love once again,

Can't look anymore,
Can't hide my wounded heart,

The sun still rises in this barren place,
Parting Sorrow and love from my Soul,

Heaven says;
Don't look to the past anymore,
Don't cry anymore,

People pass through barren deserts, for only a short time,
With little love to drink,

True love can not be borrowed or stolen,

True love is like patiently looking for and finding an oasis,
And sharing a drink of cool water from the same cup,
In the steamy desert sun.
