November Child Poem by Gbolabo Adetunji

November Child

You sparked a flame in my soul

A passion that burns bright

As the orange of autumn

Reach for the tenderness in my heart

My mind is set on you

The span of my attention

Is the width of all your wishes

Let me exercise your mind

As we work-out our bodies

I've got the muscle

To hold your naps

I love the golden brown

That paves the roads

As the leaves fall

But why should I wait till harvest

When I am yearning

For November child
