Not Forgetting Human Greed Poem by Francis Duggan

Not Forgetting Human Greed

So many people in the World are hungry
And so many people of help are in need
Due to climate change and war and other reasons
And of course not forgetting human greed.

The World economic downturn big in the news lately
But climate change to every life form a greater threat
On continuing to create carbon emissions
Our own kind may well give rise to humanity's death.

I too am one who creates much pollution
And I too am one who drives a motor car
I'm one of those with nothing to be proud of
On Nature far too many declare war

We hear and read of floods and storms and fires and famines
And the spectre of drought a threat to us all
The Nature Goddess with us does seem angry
Who knows we may create our own downfall?
