Not Alone
What would we be without each other?
The World is cold, affection farther,
How would we share, without each other?

After reading his comment for the poem 'Hear The Call'
Sandra, what a magical coincidence! Before I clicked on this poem, I wrote a brief response to your quatrain on champagne and words, and expressed practically the same sentiments you put in this poem! Kindred spirits we are, and that is so reassuring on a cold night in a dark year (that's a quotation from The General Dies at Dawn with Gary Cooper) . BTW The World is cold, affection farther - That's a perfect statement of what we must overcome.
How would we share, without each other- a nice thought.
