No One Should Be Alone On Valentines Day Poem by David Darbyshire

No One Should Be Alone On Valentines Day

A letter drops the flap shuts
Rip it open to check the remark
Can't take it it's driving me nuts
With love from a question mark

Few short days to go
Pulling the daisy petals out one at a time
I just have to know
Will she be or won't she be my Valentine

Bought a flower array and dark chocolate
Even a red pillow in the shape of a heart
Place a smile on my face to protect my fate
Ran out the door to claim my sweetheart

Out of breath got to the destination
Maybe she already has a date
Wondering about her explanation
Accidentally squeezed the chocolate

Rang the bell my hearts on fire
Palms start to sweat foot is tapping while I wait
She appears my only true desire
Couldn't move my lips couldn't ask for a date

With a frozen grin I handed over the card
Her smile warmed my lips talking was still hard
No one should be alone on Valentines Day
Kay please be my Valentine always and today
