No More Poem by Samkelo Dlamini

No More

Rating: 5.0

Today you lay on your back,
We all know you'll never come back
You shouldn't have put the rope on your neck
Now there's no turning back.

I have not only come to say goodbye,
But to apologise too
As tears of remorse roll down my face
All alone I'll have the world to face
Without you I'll have to run the race
Of course I didn't expect this, Grace

Now that you are no more,
I'll have to deal with those crying crocodile tears
I'll have to grab each of them by their ears
Some will grab a few beers, just after tears
I'm sorry the world has to be like that
But why did you have to die just like that,

Like the truth, it hurts
The pain is deeper than the sting of an angry bee
You never miss the water till the well runs dry
Oh I wish I had told you how I felt
That I needed you before you left
I wish I'd said how much I was in love with you

Today you lay on your back,
We all know you'll never come back
You shouldn't have put the rope on your neck
Now there's no turning back.

A very heartfelt write...the irony of words not spoken because is that they only take a minute to say but can cause a lifetime of regret.
