Night Starvation Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

Night Starvation

Night starvation have I,
At Five a.m. in the morn,
As I lay on my pillows,
Until the day dost dawn.

Listening to the noises,
Still in my hospital bed,
Drinking milk ~ eating biscuits,
Knowing that I am alive ~ not dead.

For YOU LORD are with me,
Today and every morn,
As long as I have Faith in YOU,
As the day dost dawn.

YOU awake me from my slumbers,
YOU awake me from my sleep,
In FIFOOT Ward so early,
As my Faith in YOU ~ I keep.

LORD ~ keep me safe,
Today and every day,
As wheelchair bound I shall live my Life,
For that to YOU ~ I shall pray.

23 March 2014.
