Night Bride Has Stepped In Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

Night Bride Has Stepped In

Rating: 5.0

Dusk picking up the little finger of night,
This has invited night bride in to Earth,
This Earth is mother-in-law of this bride,
Here her bridal drama will begin soon.
Wearing the black bangles and black veil,
Wearing diamond jewels of stars and moon.
This bride with crescent smile has come.

Tress, grass, birds and all creatures
Giving their holy chirping sounds,
All have invited her with eagerness,
Crowned ceremony is going on near gate,
Mother-in-law Earth has put curd on her cheek,
Using betel leaves she has warmed bride's cheek,
Carrying the oil lit sandy lamp in her head,
She has moved around this bride for seven times,
Now putting vermilion and sandal on forehead of bride,
She has sprinkled turmeric-rice on bride to bless,
Now the night bride will enter home.

Night bride has stepped in keeping her left foot
On this soft floor of grass and petals of roses,
Just newly wedded bride of weather groom
She is looking very pretty and all are watching,
Beauty's glace is faded in front of her,
Night bride has stepped in, to give silence
And calmness with peaceful resting joy,
She has stepped into her mother-in-law's home.

Night is amazingly considered as bride. I like your way of presentation and expression. This poem is truly beautiful.

This is very wonderful. How you consider night as a bride is really wonderful. An Indian wedding style is reflected in this poem. I love this lovely poem sir.
