Night Poem by Apurva Prabhudesai

Night

The sun is setting down &
The beasts are on the prowl
A cat has spotted a rat
And the eagle, hare
The clock strikes eight &
The children are in bed
Now its past midnight
The streets are all bare
The moon's shining on the lake
Silvery & bright
Suddenly a dog howls
A mouse scurries by,
Mine, a sleepy head,
It's time to say good night
