Never Alone Poem by Leslie Alexis

Never Alone

I am lonely
As I lay by myself
In the big room
With earthly shelves,
But I am at peace
For I am not alone.
I feel the calm,
But they cannot play:
The angels.
They stand watch over me.
I feel their warmth
And their calming touch
As they pack the room
Every little space,
Wing against my face
God’s arm on my life.
Though my flesh is lonely
My spirit is happy
For he is in the place.
