Nephesh: The Breath Of God Poem by Jim Boone

Nephesh: The Breath Of God

Visualize a small candle flame
Listen to the whisper that you sense

"It's only your body. It's not you "

Trauma or sickness can only effect
The body that You interact
In and from as time greets you
Each sunrise and stills your body
For rest each evening.

Whatever happens to your body
Your soul - You will go with God -
The calmness from deep within
That transports you from fear and pain
With each breath you take
The breath of God

What your physical self is observing
Your soul - your eternal personality -
Watches as an outsider; needs not
To participate in except to learn from

When a blackness engulfs your body
Look for the light; the eternal
L I G H T
That illuminates the path for Soul
To return to Spirit and home:
Om - Om - Om
