'Neon's' Glow

They approach, drawn to neon’s glow
marveling at the light, the colors,
the intensity.
Curiosity causes a hand to reach
to touch the light, the glow,
candied fruit one must have.
And just like that it is broken.
The light, the glow, the colors gone
just shattered glass, buzzing, broken.
The hand retreats from cookie jar
quickly moving, escaping.
Neon man is called, restores the glow
gives light once again, illuminates.
How easy glass can be repaired by hands.
How sadly lives cannot…
