Neck Less Poem by Ima Ryma

Neck Less

Marie Antoinette, Queen of France,
Was blamed by the people for all
Her spending on extravagance.
A diamond necklace sped her fall.
A few, who became close to her,
Ordered the necklace in her name,
Then stole the necklace, and for sure
Made evident she was to blame.
The King in her defense did try
To save the honor of his Queen,
A hopeless cause that was met by
Two tickets to the guillotine.

The French did not forgive, instead
Marie Antoinette lost her head.
