My soul is a but a polar night
Constantly dark and dreary
Light is seldom found here
If any is even found at all
There is ice within my heart
Like icebergs sailing on
That continue along with me
When all warm love has sailed
It was gone like the rare sun
That comes by now and then
It was glorious for its time
The flowers it did once bring
Sometimes I see the Aurora
Within me in flaming colors
That reminds me of the star
That I hope to soon see again
It reminds me of the colors
I once felt for many days
Gone now and slightly present
Giving me a last fading glimpse
It stays within my coldness
Chilling me as I stare away
Hoping to see you somewhere
In those dancing tapestries
Where I go now is not certain
I do know that the warmth is gone
Maybe misery will be my friend
Even if it only kills me slowly
What does one do when the gem
He finds is now lost forever
The only one that was a treasure
That may never again be found
It reminds me of the dreams
I once had a time ago you see
Of the colors I could once be
Dancing my cold and cares away
This is the price the pirate pays
For spending so much for treasure
He cannot hope to keep now
Except for the memories he has
The price he paid to lose it
Will be one he pays forever
Even finding another gem
Will not replace what he lost
So he goes again on a quest
To find what he did loose
Hoping to find that splendor
At least a mere substitute
Off he goes into the night
Guided by desire once more
The cold that eats away at him
Guided by his burning Aurora
