My Son's Getting Married Poem by Fred Babbin

My Son's Getting Married

Rating: 4.5

I'm so happy today.
My son's getting married
to a wonderful girl
with tattoos and bangles
and a glistening pearl
in her lip,
and a brain that's working all of the time.
And it looks like they will be settling down
although middle-aged, but still in their prime.
It's about time, but I don't complain,
because things are going as well as expected.
And life goes on, but where, no one knows
and in spite of it all, we're all still connected.
I never thought it would go like this—
So many things seem to go amiss
In life.
But this is our time for celebration
and to say congratulations
to the new/old groom, and the new/old bride.
We can all join together with the greatest of pride
and say 'mazeltov' for the new knot they've tied.
