My Sheer Awe Of Nature Poem by Francis Duggan

My Sheer Awe Of Nature

The truth goes with fact and fact never lie
In Nature for one to live others must die
The brown natural born killer with death in his cry
The eagle is soaring in the calm morning sky.

'Tis not out of joy for the beauty of Spring
But to defend his borders the nesting bird sing
With young and his mate and a nest to defend
His very own kind he doesn't treat as a friend.

In Nature the timid cannot hope to thrive
The strongest and most aggressive their genes them survive
Where the struggles of life are played out every day
Survival of the fittest it is Nature's way.

My sheer awe of Nature only seems to grow
And so little about her I can claim to know
Her life and death struggles played out night and day
And about her she has a mysterious way.
