My Rachna Madam... Poem by Anshul Gupta

My Rachna Madam...

The first day I joined school
Everyone was alien to me
My heart was filled with fear
Having no idea
What was being done to me!

This dungeon called school
Was very dark
Why my parents did it to me
I wanted to ask.

I felt lost in a jungle
The clouds were black
With no hope of any help
I was certain there was no way back.

I was missing so my father and mother
Once I got back home,
I promised to God,
I would share all my toys with my brother!

O Lord please help me out
Was my soul crying;
That day was so cruel,
It was so trying.

You then came in
as a deep respite
In that darkness, your words of love
Became my car's headlight.

Your gesture was so comforting
Your touch as if was not unknown
Somewhere deep I started feeling
That I was not alone.

Slowly and gradually
You became my life's part;
One mother I left at home
Another was in school I knew in my heart.

You taught me letters
Introduced me to alphabets
God gave me a present in you
Ma'm, You are the best!

Now I will go to school another
Might not be able to meet you at all
But without the mention of You Rachna Madam,
Arpita won't ever be Whole.
