My Puddle Poem by Hannah Smith

My Puddle

Rating: 5.0

I smiled when I saw you looking back at me
I feel like a little toddler every time I see you
I couldn't walk away because I was mesmerized
By how easily you flow and how glossy you look
I was tempted to stick the top of my foot into you
As I did so, you were like knights in shining armor
Running away, but always coming back
As if to save foot from the top of the castle.
You have always been so bipolar
You flow with the breeze but as soon as someone steps on you,
You explode with furry and engulf them.
It is always hard for me to see you
One day you there and the next your gone
So I will take my chances and step on you
Because I love to feel your cold touch
As if your icy breath engulfed my whole foot.
As it starts to rain,
I smile back into your dissolving face
because I know I will see you tomorrow...

Marisol! ! ! You transport me back to my childhood... & say what can't be said in words that I've longed to be able to use... you have a good gift: keep on using it! Every good wish, Bill
