My Prelude Poem by Nicola Bowes

My Prelude

Blue fades away
Into the midnight air
Hands, feet, shoulders everywhere
Spread across the bed sheets
Tangled in a web

Breath on a window
Foggy and obscure
Drips, sguiggles, possible words
So faintly undemanding
Wiped away instead

Warmth behind my neck
Whispers in my ear
Umms, mmms, oohs and aahs
Gently caressing
Every hair upon my head

Veins pulsating passion
Clench into fists
Grabbing hands, feet, shoulders
Satiating itself fully
With every little peep

Steamy glass panes
Pleasantly obscured
No eyes, no ears, no thoughts, no speak (speech)
This act of kindness
Will forever remain a secret

Black fades away
Into the midday sun
No extra warmth, no comfort, just empty
An imprint left
A rose stain in her sheets
