My Music Poem by Ray Hansell

My Music

I put on my headphones
Just kicking back and listening
To the music from my youth
The songs that I've been missing

I close my eyes and take a trip
Down the road called memory lane
Knowing that the music of today
Just isn't the same

I listen to the groups
Singing their great songs
Wondering to myself
I just cannot be wrong

The music from my younger years
Was the greatest of all-time
The melodies were sinple
The words all seemed to rhyme

I miss the music of years gone by
Memories so fond
I know that time can't stand still
Music like life keeps passing on

I miss it too. Music, like poetry are forms of brainwashing so you probably had time to listen and enjoy but now you dont
