My Lovely, Little Grand Daughter! Poem by Raghurama Raju

My Lovely, Little Grand Daughter!

Rating: 5.0

After the dinner she comes out into the balcony
and stands before me
Looking up straight at my face,
she raises her hands to pick her up
She rests her face sideways on my shoulder!
I standat one place and sway my body to bring the cradle effect
A gentle breeze flows silently stirringher hair
and it tickles me
Her fingers, tiny and slender, move across my back,
hinting at some thing which we two only know!

I clear my voice and begin to sing the best way I can!
After a while, she plays with the hair on my back,
always unreachable for my hands
Slowly her tight fist loosens its grip
around her dearest toy and it slides to the floor
I am worried, it may wake her up!
But she is not! Thank God!
She just inhales deeply
She must be asleep now!
The little girl played much during the day.

I don't know much about music and its complexity
Mine is not a trained voice, of course!
But it is smooth enough to lull
my lovely little grand daughter.
