My Little Bit Of Heaven Poem by Carolyn Ford Witt

My Little Bit Of Heaven

- * MY LITTLE BIT OF HEAVEN * -

As I was walking lazily
Down the long pathway
I watch the sunlight flicker
On the passing of the day.

It lit up all the flowers
That grew up through the rock
That lined the gravel roadway
That ran beside the walk.

The birds were singing gaily
And the butterflies alight
Flashing bits of color
In the bushes, Oh so bright.

And as the sun is setting
And the shadows lengthen there
I bow my head so humbly
As I say a little prayer.

I pray to Heavenly Father
A thanks for what He's given
In this tiny little hideaway
My little bit of Heaven.
