My Light Poem by resley dela

My Light

Darkness hugs my world in an iron arms
even the shining star can't loosen the hold,
the black hands of night have on me.

I am alone,
Imprisoned within the shadows I cast.
No one can hear my screams, my cries
my weeps and my tears, no one cares.

I am like a bird with a broken wings,
hiding on a tree without leaves.
Despondent.I sit and wait without hope
waiting for someone to set me free.

And then you come,
you rise over the horizon
your smile so bright and so warm
the darkness has no chance and now's gone.
Your rays touch my face and I throw all my fears
and all my dark shadows
and grow back my wings.

Then like a bird healed,
reborn and now finds liberty
I fly away.
