My Light Poem by Heath Harrington

My Light

Once I was sailing the bright and shiny sea
Navigating by the lighthouse called the honeybee
even in the thickest fog her light would show the way
I trusted in my heart she would not lead astray.

Then came the unfaithful day when her light went out.
In my tiny ship I was angrily tossed about.
I fear I can sail no more,
until the light returns to this shore.

Honeybee can't you see your light is needed here.
To shine for this lost sailor who huddles in fear.
Neglected from care the light felt.
Now we must deal with the cards life dealt.

Honeybee I will hold hope of your return
as my heart can do nothing now but burn.
