My Heels Of Achilles Poem by RIC BASTASA

My Heels Of Achilles

my loving self
ahh, you know what tickles
me

these armpits are silent
my toes are patient

my loving self be silent
be patient

i, too, have these Achilles'
heels

poor mother bathed me in the
river Styx

i can't in life forever
wear my iron shoes....
