My Fear Poem by Sefofane Shabalala

My Fear

My fear is overwhelming it devours
My selflessness, confuses my objection
To subject me to conceive my infatuation.

I've grown fond of you yet my fear to expose
My feelings is so enormous, that the thoughts
I have are…

Love ain't cherished no more, love doesn't
Exist without materialistic things no more,
Love can be fabricated like truth this days.

Anyone can tell lies about love, I contemplate
When telling someone that you love was so
Heavy like lifting weights.

My fear is overwhelming, my heart beats your
Name as I think of you, my infatuation is so
Deep I could move mountains for you.

Yet I fear to open the portal that could keep
Me afloat in space forever since the void has
Been open yet somehow I feel you slightly
Closing that pessimistic thoughts.

Don't confuse me, it ain't about trust but
Letting you in, I fear,
I love you and with that I am certain it's
Real yet the question is, will you…
