My Distraction Poem by Dan Uher

My Distraction

You draw me away from the usual
You give me a different visual
You force me to forget about the mean
You force me to let go what was seen

Just one word that you say
Is enough to let me make it through the day
Just one joke
Allows me to clear the smoke
Just one smile
Will make my life worthwhile

You are my Distraction from the norm
You allow randomness to form
What you are doing
Is more than I can ask
No more clueing
In on another task

You blurr what I had tossed
You make me forget about what I lost
My thanks is not enough
To show my sincerity
How much of a rareity
You are
By far
The best distraction this world has seen
You have no idea how much you mean
to me
