My Debts Are High, How About Yours? Poem by Lexie Mulkey

My Debts Are High, How About Yours?

Today on this day
I, Alexis Mulkey, testify to all man kind.

I'm no Foe
But I am friend.
Except my wisdom
Except my peace
For it's God Almighty
None of it's me.

Raise your hands,
Fill this place with grace
Give your neighbor peace,
It's a peace they need to feel.
Grab a hand nearest to you.
Declare his name right now
Fill this place with love
This love shall never run out!

He doesn't have to love me
He didn't have to make you.
BUT
He wants you more than all.
He wants to claim you as a son or daughter in Christ.
He wants you to want him

My debts to him are high
He expects so very little
But Why?
I testify to this:
HE LOVES YOU!
Can't you see this?

Why would you not claim?
Why not testify?
if you have heard the Holy Name?
So very easy to become clean,
The hard part is staying it.
