My Dear Valentine Poem by Eric Pennington

My Dear Valentine

When will you show your face to me?
Please don't make me get down on my knees.
It's been 20 years now, and I've still not seen your face.
I'm beginning to think that I have lost the race.

I look back on many years of Valentine pains,
Each year you leave me crying, alone in the rain.
You leave me waiting for that golden day.
When you finally show your beautiful face, and be here to stay

My heart cannot take much more of this.
Just come to me once, give me a Valentine kiss.
And if you would like, you can stick around.
We can look at the stars, lay on the ground.

And hope for a happy day.
The day that you would be here to stay.
So I don't have to go through my search again.
And look stupid writing whiny love poems with paper and pen.

So Valentine, whoever you are,
Whether you are close or far.
Please don't make me wait much more.
My heart has become ragged and sore.

Your pain and agony are truly felt in your words you have expressed here. Just know that there is always someone out there for each of us. It just may take a little longer to find that special someone. Scott
