My Child Of Adversity Poem by Ragy Sandid

My Child Of Adversity

They are not the right signs
Changes come with daylight
What happens now resigns
Even promises that come at night

Everyone smiles, now all frowns
Everyone wants to know the truth
Everyone is bothered by the upside downs
Everyone expects the information booth

But the light flickers with a turn
A promise that not everyone will know
It all happens in dim lights and urns
What light there is will go

Then the hope turned on itself
And lay dormant on the dark side
I wish it had cried out for help
But even then the cry itself died

My child who may have remained
Had many with ill will to kill
In our hearts his memory is retained
If no one remembers the events, this will.
