My Brother. Poem by Douglas McClarty

My Brother.

No pill can ease the pain
Maybe time will I cannot tell
With us, then in a moment gone
Left with just memories
Sad at this moment in time
Waking up each day without you
Dark even though the sun shines.

Where you have gone to
You will feel no more pain
We know you valued everyday
You filled every hour in your own way
Left behind lots of loving hearts
If only you could hear the remarks.

I wish I could be what you were
What you meant to so many
The people you filled with laughter
And others you helped to ease their pain
The day you passed away David
Was a sad day for your Coleraine.
