My Adamant Memory Poem by Namita Rani Panda

My Adamant Memory

Like you,
The memory of yours too, is absolutely adamant
That percolates incessantly
Drop by drop
Breaking through the equally obstinate rocks
And seep into the cavern of my core,
Form a small stream, extremely naughty and disobedient
That flows, grows, overflows
Carrying past into future through present.
The river of memory flows forward joyously
Dancing and singing all the way
Showing its glistening white teeth, giggling
As if teasing me, " Are your efforts to forget me be fruitful ever? "

Like you,
Your memory too is so adamant
That peeps its head out like a seedling
Cracking my barren land
And grows into a perennial luxuriant creeper
With clinging roots, twining stems
Of greater physiological plasticity
That cling successfully to the walls of my core,
Coil around my veins
Laden with lovely flowers and fruits golden
Though utterly indifferent I remain
With the hope that it will die soon,
Stubbornly it goes on scattering its seeds all around
That grow into luxuriant creepers, a process with no end
The flowers wave at me and say, " Smile a little dear, forget your efforts to forget me ever and experience heavenly pleasure."

Suddenly, I forget my promise
And release you from the hidden chamber
Holding your loving hands
Dance ball dance from sunrise to sunset
Sunset to sunrise, an infinite process
My dormant love rises like a Phoenix spreading its wings wider and wider
To embrace the sky with all its stars, moons and Mars.
