Moving On Poem by BOEMS BY JA WIZDUMBs BY JA

Moving On

I came upon, a colored man
Extended my arm, to shake his hand
He just stared, and then he ran
I did not quite, understand
So I gave chase

He didn't run, very far
Jumped into his, sporty car
I screamed please stay, where you are
And jumped in front, of his Jaguar
But he just, made his motor race

He tried to quickly, drive away
But I still stood there, in his way
He kept coming, anyway
I pulled my gun, and fired away
So, he ran me over, in that place

He also died, from his wounds
The sirens wailed, just like loons
In chapels, people sang hymn tunes
While we lay dead, in our tombs
And our families grieved, for the human race
