Mouth Of Death Poem by shakil ahmed

Mouth Of Death

Mouth of Death

Our obsession with death
Will never come to an end
It is an age-old riddle
With which fear and panic blend

Scriptures say heaven and hell
Exist in other unseen world
Same is told by our
Ancestors, messengers and herald.

Death is painful and dreaded
Everyone perceives it well
After crossing the mouth of death
Man goes either in heaven or in hell.

Every moment we are stepping
Towards the mouth of gritty death
For our omission and commission
There we have to confront God’s wrath.

Death is an unsolved mystery
Nobody knows its real nature
Our idea of death is formed
Just by gathering conjecture.

We fear the awesome death
Not because it is fearful
But because we don’t like to leave
This lovely world that is beautiful.

Our passion for this world
And for its dear people
Retard our journey towards death
And we call it really terrible.
