Mother Ii Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

Mother Ii

Rating: 5.0

Mother doesn't remember it's her house
Or the years we spent in it
She doesn't remember what she ate, this morning
When she's asked
And sometimes, she gets mixed up with names
When she calls us
She thinks of relatives long gone
Asking why they are not calling to see
How we are doing
It breaks my heart in silence
As I must set a side my poetic ambition
To take care of her
But, as times flies, I watching everybody else
Win awards when they are young
I am resenting my choice
But I must live with it until her end
