Mother Earth Blues Poem by Roderick Dwayne Gering

Mother Earth Blues

She tenderly wept
While in my arm's embrace
She cried herself to sleep
Life was but a trace

Nightmares and birth pangs
Holocaustic rumors of war
Make the world go away
Or let me dream no more

Middle East in turmoil again
The brothers have not found peace
Ishmael and Isaac
Can you please make peace

The seconds endlessly tick
The hours gong the tock
Remedy is only forgiveness, love
Will we ever begin Eternity's Clock
