More to Life...

So you're having a baby...
With the partner you've always wanted
Bought the house of your Dreams
Have your dog or cat on the bed when you sleep
And time is an hourglass away
From being correct again each day
Everything is perfect, what else can you say?
The Lord has been good to you and yours in every way
But then like a wrinkle in time
An inflection in a loved one's voice not right
You realize that something's missing
The Lord decides to test your family's insight
By giving your partner a rare disease
She will have the baby but might not live to hear or see
So then you start to think, why is this happening to me?

There's more to life than what you know...
There's more to life than courage and strength
More to life than humility, hope and masculinity
More to life than being scared, down or serenity
More to life than the whole range of all emotions
That will weigh your heart down
From fluttering high above the clouds
Like a Bluebird soaring FREE in the skies
If you find out your partner will eventually die.
There's more to life than what you know...
You just have to have faith in God's plan...
And not be afraid to explore the unknown
Even if in your perfect life, you end up alone.
