Moon Tankas Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Moon Tankas

ANOTHER COUNTRY

The moon stares at you.
You gaze back - not seeing it.
Naked in its light.

Ahh...my little sleepwalker
lost now in a world...of your own.

*******

SILLY MOON

Moon plays hide & seek
against the skinny bamboo
hiding now behind
a single stem...hard not to see
its great big behind...I laugh.

*******

WRITTEN ALL OVER ITS FACE

Suddenly blank moon
sketches pine tree & lone bird
with swiftest of strokes.
Written all over its face
then dissatisified - starts again.

*******

DON'T THINK I DON'T...SEE YA!

One tree passes moon
to the other tree(slyly)
as if it had thought
I hadn't seen it do it.
But ah, I smile I...gotcha!
